Last week the tribe announced a 'fully vested' casino partnership with Hard Rock Entertainment, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and with Tri-State Partners, a development company. The Shinnecock Indian Nation plans to build a 'world-class entertainment destination'. Shinnecock Nation partners with Hard Rock Casino The Seminole Tribe of Florida remains a partner with the Shinnecock, and the partnership may be holding back the Hard Rock International brand for a future Shinnecock project at a resort-type location. The plan is scaled down from a 'world-class entertainment destination' to a stand-alone casino. This plan replaces a previous plan announced in Sep 2020 by the same partners. A partnership with Tri-State Partners of New Jersey and the Seminole Tribe of Florida, owners of the Hard Rock brand, will provide 'outside funding and strategic planning'. Shinnecock Casino Hamptons will be wholly-owned by the Shinnecock Nation. The groundbreaking for the casino is expected in mid-2021, and completion of the casino is expected in mid-2022. The study is in review by the National Indian Gaming Commission and approval is required prior to start of construction. One last approval remains with an environmental impact study. The casino will be named 'Shinnecock Casino Hamptons' and will be located just off Montauk Highway.
